The ILO, through its Better Regional Migration Management (BRMM) Programme, has concluded the third round of training on the Electronic Labour Market Information System (E-LMIS) for One Stop Service Centre staff in Adama, Ethiopia, held from 9 to 12 December 2025. Implemented in partnership with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Labour and Skills, the training aimed to enhance frontline service delivery in labour registration, employment services, and labour migration management.

The initiative forms part of the broader BRMM Programme, funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, which supports countries in East and the Horn of Africa in strengthening labour migration governance through improved data systems, institutional capacity and coordination.

By equipping One Stop Service Centre staff with practical skills in the use of E-LMIS, the training contributes to more efficient and transparent management of employment services, including job matching, worker registration and migration-related processes. Strengthening such digital systems is a key priority for Ethiopia, where improved labour market data is essential for evidence-based policymaking and better protection of migrant workers.

This third round of training builds on a series of capacity-building efforts under the BRMM Programme, including earlier technical workshops and training-of-trainers sessions conducted in 2025 to support the rollout and sustainability of labour migration systems across the country.
